On Wednesday 4th June 2025, members of Alwarestoch Lodge joined many Freemasons from both Gosport and Fareham Lodges at a ‘Cheque Presentation Event’ in Gosport Masonic Hall. Also present was an Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Worshipful Brother Adrian Cleightonhills, the Mayors of both Fareham and Gosport, and numerous members of the charities that were to receive donations.
Members of Alwarestoch Lodge decided that on this occasion their donations should benefit local charities, the beneficiaries being St. Faith’s Hub and Elson Library Hub. A little more of the work of these two charities together with photographs taken at the presentation of the cheques is detailed below

Is located in St. Faith’s Church, Tribe Road, Leesland, Gosport. It is run by a team of volunteers, its leader being Mrs Kate Warstone, who is Deputy Church Warden of St. Faith’s Church. Leesland is one of the more deprived areas of Gosport, and Kate and her team realised the need to provide warmth, food and in some cases clothing to many in the surrounding area. They are completely dependent on donations of both food, clothing and monies in order that they can continue this vital support.
Elson Library Hub is on a mission. They provide a safe and welcoming environment where the local community can freely access literature and technology. They provide a Community Hub where local groups and residents can meet and engage in various hobbies and interests. They provide local schools, residents, and organisations with access to a learning centre, and they provide a venue for local community events.
The photograph below shows two members of the Elson Community Library Hub team after their receipt from the Worshipful Master of Alwarestoch Lodge of a cheque for £500 to assist them in continuing their excellent work.
Forty Lodges from both the Fareham and Gosport area received donations at this presentation.
