L7805 VO Message
Brethren of Alwarestoch Lodge
‘I attended the Gosport Open Evening in the company of Ed Dade who brought three potential new gentlemen to Freemasonry with a fourth who sadly could not make the event.
Over 60 people were in attendance on the evening with 28 potential interested parties. This highlights the importance of holding evenings such as this and the support and access to new recruits it provides.
All the gentlemen were gathered into the Temple and an explanation of Freemasonry, its origins and ethos, was given by W.Bro Paul Adams who went on to explain the roles of the Lodge Officers.
On completion we retired to the dining room where an excellent three course dinner was enjoyed by all. The raffle resulted in a number of cat calls for it being the ‘worst raffle ever’ but your VO thought it excellent as he actually won something for once!
Overall, a very enjoyable evening which gave an insight into Freemasonry which was well received by all. Bro. Dade is to be commended for his support to the Lodge and I look forward to the Lodge receiving some genuine enquiries to proceed further to application and interview.
